| File Description | In 1980s, two cards, the VDA (video display adapter) and ICB (image capture board) were created, and TGA file format was adapted with the file extensions of ".vda" and ".icb". The information about the board specific data was included. However, it was late developed that VDA and ICB were for a less board specific file format. VDA images features 1 to 32 bits per pixel, with 24 bits possible for the RGB data and 8 bits for the alpha channel. The typical file extension of TGA file format is .TGA. |

When you double click VDA files on computer, the associated program will be launched to open the selected VDA file. But you can change it to any program at your pleasure. a) Select a program to open VDA files on WindowsRight-click on the VDA file and go through 'Open with' > 'Choose default program'. In the pop-up windows, choose a program as the VDA file opener. If you decide to always open VDA files with the program, only check the option 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'.
b) Select another application to open VDA files on MacFirst Get Info about any one of VDA files by right-clicking or Command-I, and click 'Open with' arrow to choose a program to start your VDA file. Click 'Change All' button to set the selected application as the default VDA file opener app.
