| File Description | JBIG is a lossless image compression standard designed by the Joint Bi-level Image Experts Group, which is widely implemented in fax machines. JBIG images stores a black and white raster graphic compressed at a higher ratio than Fax Group 4 standard. The JBIG is also known as JBIG1, which is later extended to the JBIG2 specification (.JB2 files), which compresses bi-level images more efficiently (one half to one quarter the size of JBIG). |

When you double click JBIG files on computer, the associated program will be launched to open the selected JBIG file. But you can change it to any program at your pleasure. a) Select a program to open JBIG files on WindowsRight-click on the JBIG file and go through 'Open with' > 'Choose default program'. In the pop-up windows, choose a program as the JBIG file opener. If you decide to always open JBIG files with the program, only check the option 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'.
b) Select another application to open JBIG files on MacFirst Get Info about any one of JBIG files by right-clicking or Command-I, and click 'Open with' arrow to choose a program to start your JBIG file. Click 'Change All' button to set the selected application as the default JBIG file opener app.
