Image editing program cann't open DSC files. only a few kilobytes in size since it does not contain any image data. With only description and reference information, DSC files are only a few kilobytes in size, and usually hidden on the card. NOTE: Many digital cameras capture photos with a prefix "DSC", which means "Digital Still Camera", but these image files typically have a .JPG extension and can open with general image viewer and editor. |

When you double click DSC files on computer, the associated program will be launched to open the selected DSC file. But you can change it to any program at your pleasure. a) Select a program to open DSC files on WindowsRight-click on the DSC file and go through 'Open with' > 'Choose default program'. In the pop-up windows, choose a program as the DSC file opener. If you decide to always open DSC files with the program, only check the option 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'.
b) Select another application to open DSC files on MacFirst Get Info about any one of DSC files by right-clicking or Command-I, and click 'Open with' arrow to choose a program to start your DSC file. Click 'Change All' button to set the selected application as the default DSC file opener app.
